Lean on Shelagh, 2024

My painting Lean on Shelagh is available to buy as an affordable limited edition giclee print from Exeter Phoenix.

You can see the complete set of affordable limited edition prints hung together for the first time at Exeter Phoenix. The prints feature work by Exeter Phoenix Gallery exhibiting artists since 2020 and are available for just £30 (unframed & unsigned).

They were conceived to create truly affordable, high quality artworks for people who may not have considered buying artworks before.

Most are Giclée printed in archival inks on 290gsm Hahnemühle paper, in limited editions of just 100 copies.

They are available in the gallery or on their website while stocks last. Any small profits are split between the artist and to support the work of the gallery.

Arty Magazine Jean Rhys

Favourite Pink (Jean Rhys), oil on panel, 30x30cm, 2025

I’m pleased to have a piece of writing about Jean Rhys in the current issue of Arty Magazine, ‘Islands‘ ,along with several paintings of her, including the one above. Rhys was born on the island of Dominica, where she lived for the first sixteen years of her life. Subsequently she lived mostly in England and only re-visited Dominica once during her life, however the island’s climate, culture and landscape remained vivid in her imagination and powerfully influenced her novels, especially her best known work ‘Wide Sargasso Sea’.
