Points in a Constellation

Image: Barbara Hepworth, oil on panel, 20.2×20.2cm, 2023

I am delighted to share the news that I was commissioned by Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Art Gallery (RAMM), Exeter earlier this year to create new artwork in response to their collections or displays.

I chose to paint portraits of four women artists whose work is in the RAMM’s art collection: two Exeter-based contemporary artists, Michelle Sank and Amy Shelton and two artists with links to the south-west, Barbara Hepworth (1903-1975) and Gillian Ayres (1930-2018). The exhibition is called ‘Points in a Constellation’ and shines a light on women artists within RAMM’s collection and allowed the artist to make connections and meet with two local artists. There will be an event in March 2024 to coincide with the exhibition and tie-in with International Women’s Day, more details to follow nearer to the date.

Group Show

I’m delighted to be a part of Group Show at Aspex Portsmouth. The exhibition features the work of five artists who respond to human relationships, connections and group dynamics. Open from 20 April – 02 July 2023.

Tipping Point

I’m delighted to have two paintings included in ‘Tipping Point’ a group exhibition of CAMP members work at Studio Kind, Braunton. The opening is 5.30-7.30, Friday 6th January, 2023.

Don’t Look Now at The Plough Arts Centre

Go Wild, 60 x 50cm, oil on canvas, 2022

Excited about my upcoming solo show at The Plough Arts Centre, Torrington in April. Showcasing new oil paintings created specifically for the exhibition ‘Don’t Look Now’ which emphasises the role of the ‘muse’ by making them visible and giving them centre stage. Depicting the muse alongside the artist I want to ask questions about who is the subject. The gallery is open 10am-4pm Tues/Sat. More information here
